Auditorium

There is a well-equipped air-conditioned auditorium with all the latest audiovisual equipment to conduct seminars, conferences and workshops. It is a matter of pride that regular medical meetings are held in this auditorium which has a seating capacity of about 100 people. The auditorium also has good two-way audio-video communication with the operation theatre, which enables live surgical demonstrations and interactions between the surgeon and the audience.

A forerunner of its kind in India where habilitation/rehabilitation of children with cochlear implant is done with the aim to teach the hearing challenged child to hear, listen and then speak. Specially trained teachers train the implantees and co-ordinate between the clinic, parents and the schools.
MERF has a State-Of-The-Art Auditory verbal habilitation unit at Palavakkam, which works in tandem with the sophisticated Audiology & Speech Therapy Department at MERFISH, Mandaveli and also integrates with three unique Satellite centers across Tamil Nadu, namely Coimbatore,Trichy and Madurai, which also have state of the art equipment for diagnosis and work up of hearing loss among children. These centers also have experienced Habilitationists who provide a first hand Habilitation services to Cochlear Implantees from across the State.
