This department is headed by our visiting consultant Dr Manimaran, Consultant pulmonologist. He has special interest in allergy and immunology and obstructive sleep apnoea. He is one of the few experts in sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT).
Pulmonology clinic is a noninvasive investigation done with an equipment called Spirometer. This clinic evaluates the efficiency of the lung. Lung volumes and capacities are measured. It may be necessary as part of pre-anesthetic evaluation prior to undergoing surgery under general anesthesia. It is also useful to diagnose lung disease and monitor the response to treatment.
